ACLS Initial/Refresher Course 2 day Richardson US 75 Central & Beltline $175

This two year American Heart Association course is offered in collaboration with our training center. The training center is committed to providing quality education that meets the needs for the best patient care possible. Attendees will be exposed to the newest material and equipment which also includes the need for hands on experience. The American Heart Association currently has policies which do not allow for the course agenda to be altered. The training center has been teaching AHA courses for over 15 years in the Metroplex and has chosen to conduct the courses using a modified agenda.

In order to continue to meet our attendee's expectations all two day courses will be conducted as follows. Day one will consist of AHA approved material in which the current AHA agenda does not allow time. For example the current agenda does not allow for detailed explanation into Acute Coronary Syndrome, ECG review and pharmacology lectures. Furthermore the AHA agenda does not allow untrained participants the time to become familiar with LMA, PTL, COMBITUBE, and intubation. Day two will consist of the standard one day renewal agenda which will meet the AHA's policy for issuing a completion card. One day (renewal) or two day course participants take the same exams and receive the same completion card at the end. Participants should view this program as a competency based program upon completion. The training center has been utilizing this approach for many years. The training center would abandon this modified agenda if it was not beneficial to our attendees or increased the failure rate of the course. The following policies can be found at www.Americanheart.org under the PAM policies.AHA policy: Non-AHA Course Content
(which includes additional AHA material not included in standard course presentation material)
Instructors may add related topics as long as none of the required AHA lessons or course content is eliminated or shortened. Any additional topics or information should be added at the beginning or end of the course so that the additional information does not interrupt the flow of the required lessons. AHA policy: Course Enrollment
The Course Director has the final authority for allowing a student to take a renewal course if he or she does not have a current AHA provider card. Students who do not possess a provider card may be allowed to take the renewal course.
